1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and RAPT Studio regarding your use of the RAPT app and related services. By creating an account, purchasing digital items, or using RAPT, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
You must be legally capable of entering into this agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Nature of the Service
RAPT is a self-control tool designed to help users manage screen time and phone use, and block selected apps, websites, and places. It is not a medical, therapy, emergency, crisis, or legal service, and it does not guarantee behavioral outcomes, uninterrupted enforcement, or availability in every situation.
RAPT is not a substitute for your judgment, professional advice, parental supervision, workplace or school compliance systems, medical treatment, emergency assistance, or crisis support.
You should not use RAPT to control another person, monitor another person without lawful authority, or enforce obligations where failure could create safety, health, legal, financial, employment, or educational harm.
3. Permissions, Device Control, and Enforcement
RAPT depends on operating-system permissions, platform capabilities, and device settings for features such as app blocking, website blocking, place-based blocking, and related protections.
Device Admin is optional but recommended for Strict Mode reliability. RAPT does not prevent you from turning it off. If you turn it off during active strict protection, protection may be less reliable and RAPT may treat it as a protection interruption under your rules.
If you remove required access or change device settings, features may stop working or become less reliable. Network conditions and platform limits can also affect blocking.
Screen-time and app-usage data may be inaccurate, delayed, missing, duplicated, reset, or changed by device behavior such as time changes, restarts, reinstalls, permission changes, or clearing data.
RAPT does not guarantee that blocking, monitoring, reminders, place rules, website rules, platform-specific safeguards, Strict Mode, Soft Mode, screen-time limits, or unlock flows will operate continuously or exactly as configured.
You are responsible for keeping alternative access paths for essential communication, emergency contacts, medical, work, school, financial, travel, authentication, transportation, or safety-related needs.
4. Accounts, User Responsibilities, and Device Sessions
You are responsible for activity under your account, for keeping your sign-in method secure, and for reviewing the apps, sites, schedules, or places you choose to block.
You must not rely on RAPT as your sole safeguard for emergencies, time-sensitive work or school obligations, safety-critical communications, or other situations where missed access or delayed responses could cause harm. Device-session limits or integrity checks may also apply.
RAPT accounts may be limited to a maximum of two active device sessions. If your device limit is reached, a new sign-in may require signing out from an existing device.
A device that has not checked in for 7 days may be treated as inactive and may be replaced by a new sign-in, which may sign out or stop syncing that inactive session.
Multi-device accounts may use an account-level time zone for schedules, daily limits, daily summaries, reminders, history, Interlude records, and related account records. The account time zone may be based on an active device session and may differ from another device local time zone.
5. Paid Features and Digital Items
RAPT may offer subscriptions, 1-, 5-, 10-, and 25-interlude packs, trials, invite benefits, and other digital entitlements. Localized prices and included features are shown in the app or storefront at the time of purchase.
Interludes can be spent or deducted under rules shown in the app, including early unlocks, repeated unlocks of the same target, and protection interruptions while strict protection is active. Some actions may have a grace period, while repeated or intentional interruptions may be charged immediately as shown in the app.
If your Interlude balance becomes negative, RAPT may clear or limit blocking, monitoring, and place rules until you refill or change plans. Interludes are digital items for RAPT only, are not cash, and are removed if your account is deleted.
Interlude charges, unlock costs, interruption charges, balances, debt states, and entitlement changes may be processed locally and/or through cloud services and storefront providers. Delays, connectivity problems, store outages, account conflicts, refunds, chargebacks, or sync failures may affect when balances update or protections change.
Interludes are a digital in-app mechanism for RAPT rules and are not emergency credits, stored value, money, gift cards, deposits, financial products, or redeemable cash unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and payment handling are governed by the applicable storefront and law. Digital items are licensed for in-app use only and have no cash value except where required by law.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not misuse RAPT, including by attempting to bypass enforcement through tampering, cracking, fraudulent purchases, abusive automation, unauthorized data extraction, or other activity that harms the service or other users.
You may not install, configure, or operate RAPT on another person's device, account, or communications environment without lawful authority and any consent required by applicable law.
7. Suspension and Account Deletion
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, payment risk, legal compliance, platform compliance, or material violation of these Terms.
You may request account deletion using the app or the published web deletion flow. Deletion does not automatically cancel storefront subscriptions, and limited records may remain as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property and License
RAPT, its software, design, text, graphics, branding, and related content are owned by RAPT Studio or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose.
9. Disclaimers, Liability, and Changes
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that RAPT will block every app or site in every circumstance or that every feature will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available on every device or platform.
Except for fraud, willful misconduct, or where prohibited by law, RAPT Studio's total liability for any claims shall be limited to the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months.
You agree that RAPT may fail, be bypassed, be interrupted, or produce inaccurate or incomplete data, and you remain responsible for decisions and consequences arising from your device use, rules, schedules, unlocks, purchases, and account actions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RAPT Studio and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the service.
We may modify the service, features, pricing, rules, or these Terms from time to time.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to rapt.support@gmail.com.
10. Indemnification and Dispute Resolution
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RAPT Studio from any claims, damages, or legal expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your unauthorized use of the service to monitor or control third-party devices.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that any dispute with RAPT Studio shall be resolved on an individual basis, and you waive any right to bring or participate in a class action lawsuit. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Taiwan, without regard to conflict of law principles.
