RAPT Support & FAQ

A little help.
Peace of mind.

Getting started

Your rules.
Your choice.

Will RAPT lock apps on its own?

No. You choose which apps or websites to block, the rule, and the block intensity. RAPT does not decide that an app is bad for you or add new blocking targets by itself.

Once you enable a schedule, time limit, or Location Lock, it can activate automatically when the conditions you set are met.

Why is an app blocked when I did not start a session just now?

Check the active rules for that app. A schedule may have started, a daily allowance or opening limit may have run out, or a saved Location Lock zone may be active. These are rules you previously set; you do not need to start each one manually every time.

See how each rule works.

Will RAPT block my calls, messages, or important apps?

RAPT applies restrictions to the targets you select. Keep phone, messaging, maps, and other essential apps out of your blocking rules if you need them available. Review the selected apps and websites before enabling a strict block.

Is RAPT the same on iPhone and Android?

The purpose is the same, but system controls and supported behaviour differ. iOS uses Apple’s Screen Time authorisation and system shields. Android uses Usage Access and Accessibility for supported apps and browsers, with optional Device Admin protection.

See permissions for your platform.

Payments & purchases

Paid already?
Let’s check.

I paid, but Pro has not appeared. What should I do?
  1. Check your App Store or Google Play purchase history. Make sure the payment is completed, rather than pending or cancelled.
  2. Make sure you are signed in to the same RAPT account used for the purchase. Using the same store account alone does not move Pro to another RAPT account.
  3. Connect to the internet, reopen RAPT, and check your plan in Store. A completed purchase can still be syncing.
  4. If Pro is still missing, contact support with the receipt or order number, purchase date, plan, platform, and your RAPT account email.

You do not need to buy the plan again to report a missing purchase. Keep your receipt so we can trace the original transaction.

I bought Interludes, but my balance has not increased.

Check that the store payment completed, then reopen RAPT with an internet connection and the RAPT account that was signed in for that purchase. Check Interlude History for both purchase credits and later deductions.

If the balance still does not match, send support the receipt or order number, pack size, purchase date, account email, and a screenshot of the balance. An Interlude pack adds consumable items; it does not activate Pro.

The store says my payment is pending. Should I purchase again?

Check the transaction in the store’s purchase history and follow any payment instructions shown there. Pending payments may not grant Pro or Interludes until the store confirms completion. Avoid making another purchase while you are checking the first one.

If the store shows a completed payment but RAPT has not updated, follow the missing-purchase steps above.

I think I was charged twice. How can I check?

Compare the receipt dates, order numbers, products, and subscription renewal periods in your store purchase history. A renewal and a separate Interlude pack are different purchases. If two completed charges still look duplicated, send both receipts to support so we can check the associated RAPT purchases.

Also review subscriptions in both stores if you have used more than one platform. Refund requests are handled through the store used for the charge.

How do I request a refund?

Start with the store where you paid: Apple’s purchase support or Google Play’s refund help. Refund eligibility and processing follow that store’s policy.

If the problem is missing Pro access or missing Interludes, you can also contact RAPT support with your receipt so we can investigate the purchase.

Trials & subscriptions

Know what
happens next.

Will the free trial charge me automatically?

The initial RAPT account trial does not start a paid subscription by itself, and no payment card is required to begin it. A paid subscription starts only when you choose a plan and confirm a purchase through your store.

Monthly and annual subscriptions you purchase can renew automatically. Review the price and renewal terms shown before confirming.

How do I get up to 36 free days?

Eligible new accounts start with 3 days of Pro. Enter an eligible invite code for 3 more days, then invite 3 qualifying friends for an additional 30 days: up to 36 days in total.

The extra days depend on invite eligibility and qualification; your progress is shown in the app. See invite rewards.

What happens when my trial or paid access expires?

If you have not purchased or renewed Pro, or earned more trial days, Pro access ends and free-plan limits apply. The free plan includes 3 apps and 1 website domain. Features that require Pro are no longer available.

Your trial ending does not itself create a charge. See the plans.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Manage renewal in the store where you purchased: Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions.

Cancelling renewal normally keeps access until the end of the current paid period. Uninstalling RAPT or deleting your RAPT account does not cancel a store subscription. Lifetime Pro is a one-time purchase rather than a recurring subscription.

Do I need to pay again when I switch between Android and iPhone?

Pro access follows the same RAPT account across iOS and Android. Recurring billing stays with the store used for the original purchase. Sign in to that RAPT account on the other device instead of creating a second account or buying a duplicate plan.

Platform features can differ. If paid access is missing on the new device, contact support with your original receipt.

Blocks & unlocks

A change of plan.
Understand your options.

What if I urgently need an app I have blocked?

Open that target’s unlock options in RAPT. Soft Mode offers a free unlock after a 60-second wait. Strict Mode uses Interludes for early unlocks; supported strict blocks also offer temporary five-minute access that re-locks when it ends.

Read the access duration and Interlude cost shown before confirming. Keep essential apps outside strict rules when you need uninterrupted access. See block intensity.

Why were Interludes deducted?

Interludes can be spent on early unlocks in Strict Mode. Repeated unlocks of the same target within 72 hours cost more. Some interruptions to Strict Mode protection can also deduct Interludes under the rules shown in the app.

Check Interlude History for the recorded event. If a deduction does not match what happened, send support the time, target app or website, screenshot, and your RAPT account email.

Does Pro include unlimited Interludes?

No. Pro access and Interludes are different. New accounts receive a starting Interlude balance; additional consumable packs are sold separately in the app. A Pro purchase does not mean early unlocks are unlimited or free.

Soft Mode offers a free unlock after waiting. You choose which level of resistance fits your routine.

Why can’t I change or remove an active strict rule?

Strict Mode is designed to make an active commitment harder to interrupt. The available changes and early-unlock options depend on your rule, remaining duration, platform, and protection settings.

Review the options in the app before enabling a strict rule. If something appears stuck after the rule should have ended, contact support with the rule type, end time, device, and a screenshot.

Permissions & privacy

Understand
the access.

Can RAPT read my private messages or passwords?

RAPT’s Android Accessibility access is used to recognise selected foreground apps and supported browser address bars for blocking. It is not used to read private messages or passwords. RAPT also processes supported usage signals and account information needed for its features.

Device permissions differ by platform. Read the permission explanation and Privacy Policy for the full scope.

Do I have to give RAPT my location?

Location access is for Location Lock. You can use time-based and usage-based rules without enabling place-based blocking. If you choose Location Lock, the required location access lets RAPT detect entry to and exit from your saved zones, including supported background detection.

Review or revoke access in your device settings. Revoking it affects rules that depend on location.

Why did blocking stop working on my Android phone?

Check that Accessibility and Usage Access are still enabled. Android or your phone manufacturer may restrict background activity, especially after battery-saving changes, restarts, or updates. Review RAPT’s battery/background settings and the permissions needed by your active rule.

Changing permissions can affect Strict Mode protection. If the issue continues, send support your phone model, Android version, RAPT version, affected app or browser, and when blocking failed. Check permissions.

Why do my screen-time numbers differ from the phone’s settings?

RAPT’s reports use the usage signals available on your platform. Reporting windows, delays, permission changes, device restarts, and system behaviour can affect the results. The numbers are estimates and may not exactly match the phone’s built-in report.

Compare the same date and time range first. If a large discrepancy persists, send support both screenshots, the selected period, and your device details.

Accounts & devices

Keep your account.
Keep your access.

Can I use my purchase after reinstalling RAPT or getting a new phone?

Sign in to the same RAPT account that made the purchase and connect to the internet so its account access can sync. Keep your original store account and receipt available if a purchase needs checking.

Device permissions must be enabled again as needed. Local device data may not survive uninstalling, clearing app data, or changing phones; signing in does not guarantee every local report or setting will return.

What happens to purchases if I delete my RAPT account?

Account deletion can remove your RAPT data and access associated with that account. Creating another RAPT account does not transfer the deleted account’s Pro or lifetime purchase. Make sure you understand this before deleting.

Deletion does not cancel a store subscription. Manage renewal through the store separately. Read the account-deletion explanation.

Still need a hand?

Let’s work it out.

Email us your RAPT account email, device model, system version, RAPT version, and what happened. For a purchase issue, include the receipt or order number and purchase date. Screenshots help.
